Benny's World at Pedal for Wishes
We all had fun at Make-A-Wish Foundations “Pedal 4 Wishes” event last Saturday, June 7th, 2008. They raised over $100k! Benny was supposed to ride in his Big Red Car that Lisa bought on eBay but he had other ideas. Firstly he wasn’t very impressed that it had been brought from home, there was no way he was going to share it. He was also a little overwhelmed by all the people so Lisa's hip became his chosen chariot. He got a little distracted on the route, it went via the children’s play area so we had to stop and play for a while. There were many other Wish Kids there too, that’s always a good reminder that we are doing OK, and it also gives us hope to see so many enthusiastic people willing to help each other.
Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children between the ages of 2 1/2 to 18 years of age who are living with a life threatening illness or medical condition. Since 1985 the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois has granted more than 7,500 wishes to children in Illinois. Benny is a Wish Child, his wish is currently being dreamed, we'll keep you posted!
Benny's World at Ravinia
Benny and his friends had a great time at Ravinia picnicing to the music of Justin Roberts on Saturday, June 14th, 2008. The Ravinia Festival is the US’s oldest outdoor music festival. Justin Roberts is from Chicago, and is one of the most popular performers on today's hip kids music scene.
